The RADC Northern Dining Club has been set up to bring together members of the Royal Army Dental Corps, both Past and Present, Regular and TA.

The club has been set up due to the large number of ex RADC personnel settling in the North of England. Add to that the large number of serving RADC personnel in the Catterick Garrison area and the TA Field Hospitals and it would be rude not to get together for the occasional meal.

It aims to meet up twice a year in the North of England for a curry, a catch up on old times and a couple of beers.

Previous Evenings

Number 1

The First RADC North Curry night was at the Amontola restaurant in Richmond in February 2008. It was a great evening and far busier than we could have hoped for on our first outing. I had planned on 21 attending and so as 35 of us crowded around a couple of tables it really helped us to get to know one and another. The atmosphere was fantastic and much beer and fun was had by all. Unfotunately my excitement lead to a lack of photos being taken but Sgt Greg Wilshaw has donated the below camera phone shots.

Number 2.

Our Second outing was held at The Bengal Spice Restaurant at Catterick and attracted 46 members. It was held on Tuesday 21st October 2008. We were blessed with the presence of the Corps Representative Colonel Comdt, RSM, The Wileys and Ex RADC Technician Joe Dewyer who retired from the RADC in 1972. I (being a youthful 30yrs old) discovered much from chatting with Joe, I never realised the RADC served in Malta for a start, why do I get Hohne??????????? It was great to meet someone who represented the army at many sports including Cricket.

With our greater numbers even more more gossiping, catching up and merry-making was had by all. It was a fantastic night owing much to the hard work of Margaret Broadfoot and the contacts of David Wiley.

Below are a few photos from that evening;

Number 3.

The last meeting of the RADC Northern Dining Club was held on Thursday 12th March 2009.

Number 4.

The next meeting of the RADC Northern Club will be Wednesday 25th November 2010.

 If you wish to attend please email me secretary@radc-north.com

As you can see a good time was had by all, those in the know might spot a rare photo of Hutch without a beer in his hand. The food was great and the beer was wet. It let us all have a really great catch up. It set the tone for future events.

Spotters may also notice the CorpsColouredBalloons!

I look forward to seeing you there!
                                                                                                                                                        The second outing was a great success at a lovely venue, unfortunately we can't take credit for the Corps coloured restaurant lighting scheme. I must own up the the Corps coloured napkins though- it just shows what an ironing board and too much time on your hands can achieve! We managed to get serving, retired and TA members together and even had RAF support with staff from RAF Leeming and Linton coming along!
